How Does Triton Locksmith Open Your Car Without Damage?

• Air wedge + long-reach tool (90% of vehicles): We slide a thin air bladder into the gap between the door and frame at the top corner. Inflate it gently to create a half-inch gap. Then insert a thin metal rod through the gap to press the unlock button or pull the interior door handle. Zero damage to paint, weatherstripping, or door frame.
• Lishi 2-in-1 picks (European vehicles, older models): A precision tool inserted directly into the door lock cylinder. It reads the wafer positions and manipulates them to open the lock. Works on vehicles where the air wedge method isn't ideal. Takes 2-5 minutes.
• Under-the-door tools (some SUVs and trucks): On vehicles with higher ground clearance, we can sometimes reach the lock mechanism from underneath. Rare but useful on certain models.

For vehicles with advanced anti-theft systems (newer BMWs, Mercedes, and Teslas), we use manufacturer-specific techniques. Every vehicle is different. That's why you want a trained automotive locksmith, not a random guy with a coat hanger.

$95-$150 depending on the vehicle type. Standard domestic and Japanese vehicles (Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Nissan) are on the lower end. European luxury vehicles and newer models with advanced security systems are on the higher end. The price includes the service call and the entry. No trip fee, no hidden charges.

We don't charge extra for nights, weekends, or holidays. Locked out at 2 AM in the Sawgrass Mills parking lot on a Sunday? Same price as Tuesday at noon. Emergencies don't follow a schedule.

What If My Keys Are Locked in the Trunk?

Same process, same price. We open the car door first, then use the interior trunk release button or lever to pop the trunk. If the trunk release is disabled or the car doesn't have one (some older models), we can pick the trunk lock cylinder directly. No damage either way. No extra charge for trunk access.

We also handle keys locked in a running car. This happens more often with push-to-start vehicles. The fob is inside the car, the engine is running, but the doors are locked. We open the door without turning off the engine. Call us immediately if this happens. Don't try to break the window.

What Should You Do When Locked Out of Your Car?

1. Check all doors and the trunk. Sometimes one is unlocked.
2. Check if you have a spare key accessible (family member nearby, magnetic key box under the car).
3. Call a locksmith. Not a tow truck. A locksmith comes to you and opens the car on the spot. A tow truck takes the car somewhere and costs more.
4. Stay with your vehicle in a safe, well-lit area.
5. Have your ID ready. We'll need to verify you own or are authorized to access the vehicle.

Can Triton Locksmith Open Any Car?

Virtually yes. We carry tools for every major make and model on the road. Honda, Toyota, Ford, Chevy, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Jeep, Dodge, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Lexus, Tesla, and everything else. From 1990s Hondas to 2026 Teslas. Some high-security vehicles take a few extra minutes but we get them open.

The only vehicles that occasionally require a different approach are some newer electric vehicles with no physical door handles (like certain Tesla configurations) and some armored or specialty vehicles. But for 99.9% of cars on South Florida roads, we're at your door and inside your car within 30 minutes of your call.

How Do You Prevent Future Car Lockouts?

Get a spare car key made. A spare costs $75-$250 depending on your vehicle. Keep it in your wallet, give one to a family member, or use a magnetic key box under the vehicle frame. That one spare key eliminates the $95-$150 lockout call entirely.

For push-to-start vehicles, always keep the fob on your body. Don't set it down inside the car. Some newer vehicles beep if the fob is inside when you lock the doors. Older push-to-start models don't have that feature. Build the habit of key-check before door-close.
